As dog owners (or maybe the other way round – they seem to own us most of the time!) we know that sometimes a holiday is only complete if the four-legged memer of the family comes too. So we’re extremely pet-friendly and we welcome dogs with their owners.
All the cottages have enclosed gardens and our large field is perfect for excercise. There are lovely walks on the doorstep and we provide dog bowls, treats and towels. We’re also happy to arrange an appointment with our local English-speaking vet for the necessary treatment needed before returning to the UK if needed. France is very dog-friendly and pets are welcomed in many cafés and restaurants here.
We don’t like too many rules at Les Grands Coudrais, but we do ask that dogs are kept off sofas and bedding, that they are kept under control in the grounds and that owners clear up after their pets. Waste bags are not commonly available here in France – we use nappy bags which are just as effective and cheap, or you can bring your own supply from home. Dogs are not allowed in the enclosed pool area and we’d ask you to ensure they don’t chase our cats (for their own safety!) or worry our other animals – our chickens and rabbit are kept in an enclosed area but can sometimes be a surprise for dogs who haven’t encountered them before!.
We ask for a £200 returnable damage deposit for guests bringing dogs which is refunded on your departure provided everything is fine, but we don’t add any extra charges for dogs staying at Les Grands Coudrais.
